Thank you for your interest in the Lake Forest Highlands Community.
We are an association of 105 homeowners. Our association has bylaws and deed
restrictions that you will find listed elsewhere on this website.
The association charges each home a yearly dues fee ($265/yr for 2015) that
pays for the maintenance of common areas including lawn care and snow removal.
The association also serves to maintain property values through architectural
and landscape integrity by a required evaluation of proposed changes to property.
You will find diverse, middle income home ownership mostly of professionals,
educators and businessmen and women.
Lake Forest Highlands is located in Pittsfield Township adjacent to the City of
Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor area features large scale activities coupled with small
town charm. It blends many recreational and cultural opportunities with a varied
job market within a short commute. This unique mix includes two major universities
(the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University) and a community college,
two major hospitals and the cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, now ringed by
flourishing and expanding township neighbors. Cultural events abound in the area,
ranging from world-class productions to neighborhood theatre, from major symphonies
to talented local musicians. Couple those options with the area"s expanding number
of restaurants and two questions emerge: what do you want to do? Where do you want
to eat? The answers arise from a wide variety of options.
Special events help enliven the artistic scene all year, including the mid-summer
Ann Arbor Arts Fair in which all of downtown becomes a street gallery, and the
Ann Arbor Summer Festival with its month-long venue of fabulous entertainment.
Sports fans can enjoy the offerings of numerous men"s and women"s varsity sports
at U-M and EMU, where enthusiasts gather in the largest college football stadium
in the country. Weekend athletes and youngsters can choose from a variety of
recreation programs, classes, summer camps, events and golf courses.
The Ann Arbor area has recently been chosen as 1 of the 10 best places to live or
retire in America. Lake forest Highlands is only 45 minutes drive to Detroit for
major league sporting events and fine museums. Our area has easily accessible
transportation featuring local bus lines and is only 30 minutes to Detroit
International Airport via interstate highways.
Property taxes are moderate and well below the City of Ann Arbor. You will find
the quality of life to be pleasant, friendly and a great place to live.
